An investigation is currently ongoing in New York following the discovery of the bodies of a woman and her 7-year-old son on Wednesday.
The two decomposing bodies were located in a Brooklyn apartment after a foul odor was reported by a concerned neighbor. According to WABC, the 33-year-old mother and her child did not exhibit any signs of trauma, and there were no indications of forced entry into the residence.
One neighbor described the deceased woman, stating, “She never came out. She didn’t open the door for anybody. Never. Never opened the door for anybody. Even if you knocked, she never opened.”
Sources informed WABC that the mother and son were found in a bedroom.
Authorities have yet to publicly identify the deceased individuals. A medical examiner is set to conduct autopsies to ascertain the cause of death.
