As the 2027 general elections approach, Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has issued a stern warning to those with presidential ambitions. He advised aspirants to abandon their dreams of the presidency.
This statement comes amidst rumors that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, and Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are strategizing to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe cautioned against nurturing presidential ambitions, asserting that Tinubu will continue as Nigeria’s president until 2031.
Igbokwe emphasized the need for the president to secure a second term to “set the records straight.” He stated, “If any presidential aspirant is dreaming of winning presidential elections in 2027, I will advise that candidate to perish the thought until 2031.”
He further proclaimed, “PBAT is destined to remain in the seat of power until 2031. He needs eight years to set the records straight.”
