Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has addressed claims made by the military leader of the Niger Republic, Abdourahamane Tchiani. Tchiani alleged that Nigeria is collaborating with France to destabilize Niger, a statement Bwala has condemned as despicable propaganda.
Bwala asserts that these claims are intended to incite Northern Nigeria against President Tinubu.
He noted that Tchiani deliberately used a local language to make these allegations more impactful within the region.
DAILY POST recalls that Tchiani, during an interview on Wednesday, accused France of negotiating with terrorists in Nigeria to undermine his country’s stability.
Furthermore, Tchiani claimed that France provided significant funds to President Tinubu for establishing a military base in Nigeria.
In response, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, quickly dismissed these allegations as unfounded and baseless.
Reacting to Tchiani’s assertions in a video shared on his X page, Bwala emphasized that these claims are nothing more than baseless propaganda aimed at creating chaos and inciting discord in Northern Nigeria against the President.
Bwala expressed, “Yesterday I came across a video, a despicable propaganda piece by the military head of state of the Niger Republic against the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This is often seen during military interregnum.”
He added, “The honeymoon is over for Tchiani; he has failed to tackle economic issues in his country. In a desperate attempt, he resorted to spreading cheap falsehoods and propaganda against Nigeria.”
Bwala criticized the military leader’s choice of words, suggesting possible collusion with local politicians and reiterated that the ultimate goal is to sow discord in Northern Nigeria against the President.
He concluded by highlighting Nigeria’s longstanding commitment to leadership in West Africa and the importance of fostering positive bilateral relations with neighboring countries.
