The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has declared 2025 as a pivotal year for Nigeria’s military to effectively combat and eliminate banditry, terrorism, and other security threats plaguing the nation.

During a recent visit to troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, General Musa commended the military’s significant achievements in protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and urged the troops to intensify their efforts.

“This year, 2025, will be a decisive year for Nigeria’s security. We must ensure it becomes the year in which we finally eradicate banditry, terrorism, and all forms of insecurity threatening our great nation,” General Musa asserted.

The CDS praised the dedication and bravery demonstrated by the troops while emphasizing the necessity of maintaining this momentum.

During his visit, General Musa inspected arms and ammunition recovered by OPSH and reviewed a guard of honour mounted in his honour.

In a show of solidarity, General Musa participated in a push-up exercise alongside Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and OPSH Commander, reinforcing their commitment to the fight against insurgency.
