A tragic case has emerged in Wisconsin involving an 8-month-old boy who is not expected to survive after his father, Jalin White, allegedly threw him against a wall in a fit of frustration while playing a video game.
According to reports from WISN, White, 20, was engaged in a game of “NBA 2K,” a well-known basketball video game, when he reportedly lost his temper. Police indicated that White provided several contradictory accounts regarding the injuries sustained by his son, including a claim that the infant’s mother had struck his head against a door frame.
White also suggested that the baby fell during a diaper change, and at one point, he mentioned dropping the infant while playing video games, as noted by WTMJ.
In a criminal complaint, it was revealed that “the Defendant was down two points in the fourth quarter of the game and became frustrated while holding JW, ultimately throwing JW against the wall.” This act of violence has led to severe consequences.
Medical professionals have determined that the child suffered multiple injuries, including six rib fractures, a skull fracture, and a significant brain injury, leading to the grim prognosis that he is not expected to survive.
As a result of this incident, Jalin White has been charged with child abuse and child neglect. Milwaukee County Court Commissioner Andrea Bolender indicated that the charges could escalate to homicide if the infant succumbs to his injuries.
White’s bond has been set at $100,000, and he is scheduled for a hearing on Friday.
