Donald Trump Claims Black Hawk Helicopter Caused Plane Crash in DC News

The Blackhawk helicopter was flying too high, by a lot. It was far above the 200 foot limit,” Trump wrote on Truth Social early Friday morning. “That’s not really too complicated to understand, is it???”

President Donald Trump is offering another theory regarding the tragic mid-air collision that resulted in the deaths of 67 individuals in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

This time, he places the blame on the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter involved, in contrast to his previous accusations against Democratic predecessors’ DEI programs, which he originally claimed were responsible for the air crash over Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Trump stated, “The Blackhawk helicopter was flying too high, by a lot. It was far above the 200-foot limit,” on Truth Social early Friday morning. “That’s not really too complicated to understand, is it???”

On Thursday, the president criticized former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, asserting that he had undermined the Federal Aviation Administration by advocating that “diversity is integral to achieving.”

“He’s a disaster. He was a disaster as a mayor. He ran his city into the ground, and he’s a disaster. Now he’s just got a good line of bulls–t,” Trump remarked. “The Department of Transportation is [the] government agency responsible for regulating civil aviation. Well, he manages it, with 45,000 employees, and he’s run it right into the ground with his diversity agenda. So I had to say that it’s terrible.”

He further claimed, without evidence, “Then it says ‘FAA says, people with severe disabilities are the most underrepresented segment of the workforce, and they want them in, and they want them, they can be air traffic controllers.’ I don’t think so.”

Commentators such as Nicolle Wallace, Kaitlan Collins, and Van Jones, along with various minority organizations, swiftly condemned Trump for politicizing the tragedy.

The mid-air collision involving American Airlines 5342 over the Potomac River marks the deadliest aviation accident since 2001.
