Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite continues to embrace its quirky charm in the latest season. The popular battle royale game is returning to a heist theme for Chapter 6: Season 2, aptly named “Lawless.” Players will engage in thrilling activities such as breaking into bank vaults, robbing armored cars, and even executing train heists on the island. And yes, there’s a giant pickle that raps!

Following a Japanese-inspired season, “Lawless” draws inspiration from games like Grand Theft Auto. In addition to the robbery-themed gameplay, players can explore new locations such as the urban Crime City. Exciting new features include: gold water that grants powers upon swimming; a fictional cryptocurrency for purchasing gear that resets after each match; black markets for high-end weapons; a scanner to detect enemies; and a mob boss who makes surprise appearances during heists. Players can also select a specific song to play as they drop onto the map and win matches, channeling their inner professional wrestler.

For those who purchase this season’s battle pass, there’s a crew of thematically appropriate criminals, including the aforementioned pickle known as Big Dill, and even Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. Expect a series of Cowboy Bebop quests to be available starting March 1st, alongside character outfits of Spike Spiegel and Faye Valentine in the item shop on February 28th.

“Lawless” will run from today until May 2nd. While the battle royale mode remains Fortnite’s main attraction, the game has also been diversifying significantly in recent months. This includes the addition of local multiplayer to its music mode, a new Counter-Strike-style shooter mode, and a Lego social game inspired by GTA roleplaying.
