Fubara Disowns Court Order: Rivers News on Administrator’s Duties

“The malicious post alleged that the court order was granted in a fictitious suit that I had purportedly filed, challenging the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State as unconstitutional. This is a baseless act of blackmail and deliberate misinformation by individuals of low minds who seek to incite unrest and disaffection among people of Rivers State,” he stated.

Dr. Edison Ehie, the Chief of Staff to the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, has urged the public to disregard a false court order that allegedly targets the state’s Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ete Ibas.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Ehie addressed the misinformation circulating on social media.

He noted that reports claimed a State High Court had issued an order prohibiting Ibas from resuming duties at the Government House.

Ehie firmly stated that these claims are entirely false, emphasizing that he has not filed any legal suit against the sole administrator.

“The malicious post alleged that the court order was granted in a fictitious suit that I had purportedly filed, challenging the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State as unconstitutional,” he clarified.

“This is a baseless act of blackmail and deliberate misinformation by individuals with ill intent, seeking to incite unrest and disaffection among the people of Rivers State,” he added.

Ehie further highlighted that the report included misspellings of his name and those of other officials, and it lacked any information on the suit number, hearing date, or filing time.

He criticized the author of the report as being uneducated and strongly urged the public to dismiss these misleading claims.

“The post is baseless, false, and malicious, designed to sow division among the people and misrepresent me as a non-conformist,” he concluded.

“It is intended to fuel hatred and resentment among the people of Rivers State,” he reiterated.
