In a recent video, Gamers Nexus has deconstructed NZXT’s defense regarding its Flex gaming PC purchase and rental program. Host Steve Burke claims that despite NZXT making adjustments, the company continues to mislead customers, following his previous assertion that the program was “a scam” in another video.

Recently, NZXT , stating that it would provide clearer details about its Flex program, which had been criticized for inconsistent specifications that could change almost daily. Although the company has seemingly updated specs and performance numbers for its purchase builds, Gamers Nexus reports ongoing issues, such as fluctuating FPS numbers and a FAQ suggesting that NZXT’s for-sale Player: Three Prime build uses an RTX 4090 graphics card, which contradicts its stated specifications.

The FAQ entry referenced by Burke appears to have been removed, but there remains an entry titled “What GPU is right for me?” that lists the RTX 4090 and its advantages. These inconsistencies pose a significant risk for potential customers, according to Burke.

“The fact that NZXT misrepresented its product, even after its statement, as having a 4090 when it still had a 4080 Super … seemingly indicates that even NZXT can’t keep up with its own specs changes. If NZXT can’t keep up with it … how are they expecting the customer to keep up with it?”

Gamers Nexus has also raised additional concerns regarding the company’s rental program, including “improper packaging” damage fees that can exceed the price of equivalent non-rental PCs. Moreover, creator-based ad videos have persisted, despite NZXT claiming it had “pulled all influencer-led Flex advertising.” NZXT has not yet responded to requests for comment on the recent video.

On Thursday, Gamers Nexus announced that it is pursuing a deeper investigation, concluding its video with Burke mentioning he has received “a number of very concerning tips” from former employees and customers.
