Hamas has commenced a third round of releasing hostages in Gaza on Thursday, part of an ongoing ceasefire agreement with Israel.
During this process, Hamas returned female Israeli soldier Agam Berger, 20, to the Red Cross at a ceremony held in the heavily damaged urban refugee camp of Jabaliya in northern Gaza. She was subsequently transferred to the Israel Defense Forces.
Another ceremony is anticipated in the southern city of Khan Younis, in front of the destroyed residence of slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, where hundreds of people, including masked militants and onlookers, are expected to gather.

As part of the agreement, Hamas has agreed to hand over three Israelis and five Thai captives today. In return, Israel is anticipated to release 110 Palestinian prisoners.
This truce seeks to de-escalate the deadliest and most destructive war ever fought between Israel and Hamas, ignited by the Oct. 7, 2023, attack into Israel. The ceasefire has been holding despite earlier disputes regarding the order of the hostages’ release.
