Kick off the new year with the exhilarating Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) speedrunning marathon for charity! This year’s event begins today, January 5th, at 12PM ET, and will run until the early hours of January 12th. You can catch all the action live on Games Done Quick’s Twitch channel, with runs typically uploaded to their YouTube channel shortly after they air.
I’ve been checking the schedule, and here are some runs that I’m particularly excited about:
- Astro Bot, because Astro Bot is fantastic
- A Metroid Prime race—perfect to get hyped for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
- The notorious Superman 64
- A lengthy six-hour and fifteen-minute run of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth—when I played it last year, it took me roughly ten times that long to complete
- Crazy Taxi featuring a live band, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And that’s just the beginning! This year’s AGDQ promises to be another incredible event, and I can’t wait to tune in.
This year’s marathon is raising funds to support the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Last year, AGDQ successfully raised over $2.5 million for this vital cause.
