In a recent statement, an Iranian general declared that Iran would respond "decisively and destructively" to any threats following President Donald Trump‘s order for U.S. military action against the Houthis in Yemen.

General Hossein Salami, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, warned state media that Iran is prepared to act if provoked after U.S. strikes targeting the Tehran-supported terrorist group, as reported by Reuters.

"We are not a nation to live in hiding. We are a valid and legitimate system in the world. We announce it if we attack anywhere," Salami stated in an interview with ABC News.

President Trump emphasized on Monday that "Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of Iran, and Iran will be held responsible, suffering dire consequences!"

U.S. Military Shoots Down Houthi Drones as Trump’s Strikes Against Terrorist Group Continue

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, "Let nobody be fooled! The hundreds of attacks being made by the Houthis, the sinister mobsters and thugs based in Yemen, are all orchestrated by Iran. Any further attack or retaliation by the ‘Houthis’ will meet with overwhelming force, with no guarantee that such force will stop there. Iran pretends to be a victim of rogue terrorists, but they are orchestrating every move, supplying them with weapons, money, and advanced military equipment."

According to U.S. Central Command, a series of operations targeting Iran-backed Houthi positions across Yemen has been initiated to protect American interests, deter adversaries, and restore freedom of navigation.

On Saturday, Trump announced that he had "ordered the United States Military to launch decisive and powerful military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen."

Trump added, "It has been over a year since a U.S.-flagged commercial ship safely navigated through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, or the Gulf of Aden. The last American warship to pass through the Red Sea was attacked by the Houthis multiple times four months ago."

The former president further remarked that the "relentless assaults have cost the U.S. and the global economy billions of dollars while putting innocent lives at risk. To all Houthi terrorists, YOUR TIME IS UP, AND YOUR ATTACKS MUST STOP, STARTING TODAY. IF THEY DON’T, HELL WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU LIKE NOTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE!"

Hegseth Declares ‘Peace Through Strength is Back’ While Vowing ‘Unrelenting’ Campaign Against Houthi Targets

The extensive campaign against Houthi targets in Yemen will continue "unrelenting" until the Iran-backed proxies agree to halt their aggression towards U.S. assets, stated Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a Fox News interview on Sunday.

"The moment the Houthis say ‘we’ll stop shooting at your ships, we’ll stop shooting at your drones,’ this campaign will cease, but until then, it will be relentless," he explained on "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo.

The Houthis have reported that the recent U.S. strikes resulted in the deaths of at least 53 individuals and injuries to approximately 100, according to the Associated Press.

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthis, asserted on Sunday, "We will confront escalation with escalation. We will respond to the American enemy in its raids and attacks, targeting its aircraft carrier, warships, and vessels. However, we still have options for further escalation. If aggression continues, we will pursue additional measures."

U.S. warships have successfully intercepted around a dozen Houthi drones since Saturday, according to Fox News sources.
