"I had some really bad habits for a long time... I don’t have that issue now. Having to take three months off swinging forces you to come back and be wet concrete."

Three-time major champion Jordan Spieth has announced his much-anticipated return to competitive play, bringing excitement to golf fans everywhere.

Jordan Spieth will make his return to the PGA Tour at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in early February, marking the end of his longest break from professional play.

Doug Ferguson of The Associated Press was the first to report this exciting news.

Spieth has not played since the FedEx St. Jude Championship in mid-August and underwent wrist surgery shortly after. His wrist issues have been a concern since the 2023 PGA Championship, and he re-aggravated it following last year’s Ryder Cup. He even experienced a serious wrist incident during last year’s RBC Heritage, which nearly forced him to withdraw.

Clearly, the surgery was long overdue.

“I had some really bad habits for a long time,” Spieth shared with Ferguson.

“Whether it was something that would have happened anyway or whether anything in my wrist was causing me not to be able to get into certain positions, I don’t have that issue now. Having to take three months off swinging forces you to come back and be wet concrete.”

After a month of practice, Spieth revealed he refrained from touching a golf club for 12 weeks post-surgery.

He contemplated participating in the upcoming The American Express tournament in the Coachella Valley but opted to play it safe and wait for the West Coast Swing to kick off his 2025 season. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler plans to do the same, as he also suffered a hand injury over the Christmas holiday.

With Spieth and Scheffler set to make their season debuts on the Monterrey Peninsula, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am promises to be an exciting event filled with talent. Rory McIlroy has also begun his PGA Tour season at this event in previous years.

Spieth’s return to Pebble Beach is a welcome sight for golf enthusiasts, as he remains one of the most beloved players in the sport. Fans are eager to see Spieth healthy and competing once again.
