Liverpool will have adidas making their kits again from this summer

According to The Athletic, Liverpool earns a flat fee of £30 million from Nike each season, but added royalties of 20% on all club merchandise net sales can raise the overall figure to over £60 million.

However, sources indicate that the adidas deal represents a ‘significant increase,’ with the total amount being ‘dependent on performance on the pitch and global sales.’

“From August 1, 2025, LFC will wear the iconic three stripes for the third time in its illustrious history, with adidas supplying a range of match kits, training kits, and cultural wear for all men’s, women’s, and Academy teams, as well as LFC Foundation staff,” the statement read.

“LFC and adidas partnered during some of the club’s most successful eras and memorable trophy lifts, first from 1985 to 1996 and again from 2006 to 2012.

“During these periods, the Reds secured various silverware, including three top-flight domestic league titles and three FA Cup victories. The adidas kit is synonymous with success at LFC and is considered one of the most beloved strips by fans.”

Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan expressed: “Everyone at the club is incredibly excited to welcome adidas back into the LFC family. We have enjoyed fantastic success together in the past, creating some of the most iconic LFC kits of all time.

“Both adidas and Liverpool share a common ambition for success, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner again as we aim to create more incredible kits that enhance on-pitch performance.

“We’d like to extend our gratitude to Nike for their support over the last five years and wish them well in the future.”

Bjorn Gulden, CEO at adidas, added: “We are thrilled that adidas and Liverpool Football Club are joining forces once again. The club is one of the most prominent and iconic names in world football, boasting a massive fan base.

“The jerseys worn during our previous partnerships are some of the finest ever created. We are honored to provide our players with cutting-edge technology to perform at the highest level and look forward to creating more classic kits for the fans.”

However, they will have to stick with their Nike kits during pre-season

Liverpool confirmed that their new adidas home and away kits will be available for purchase starting August 1.

However, the start date of their partnership means that the Reds will need to continue wearing their Nike kits during the pre-season.

While details about their pre-season matches are yet to be announced, The Athletic previously reported Japan and Hong Kong as potential locations.

Pre-season typically begins at the start of July, meaning Liverpool will have about a month left with Nike before transitioning to adidas.

They will debut their new kits in the Premier League, with the 2025/26 season commencing on August 16.
