The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a crucial warning to Nigerians, urging them to refrain from corrupt practices in the upcoming year, 2025, and to remain steadfast in their commitment to combating corruption.

In a statement made on Tuesday, the chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, emphasized that the nation’s progress and development hinge on collective efforts to combat economic and financial crimes.

In his New Year message, the EFCC chairman highlighted that rejecting corruption is essential for enhancing the quality of life for all Nigerians and stimulating economic growth.

He encouraged citizens to utilize the opportunities presented by the New Year to reaffirm their dedication to the values of transparency, accountability, and integrity.

“We can achieve significant progress and development for our nation through our support for anti-corruption initiatives,” Olukoyede stated.

He further noted, “The New Year offers us fresh opportunities to recommit ourselves to the ideals of transparency, accountability, and integrity. The advancement of our economy and the improvement in our lives can only be driven by our dedication to these principles.”

Olukoyede reassured Nigerians that the EFCC is determined to exceed its accomplishments in 2024, pledging that the agency’s officers will remain relentless in their pursuit of justice.

“Our work transcends a mere vocation; it is a patriotic calling. We understand this and will consistently give our best to propel the nation forward,” he affirmed.

“The year 2025 will mark another chapter in our fight against corruption. Our focus is clear, and our commitment is unwavering,” he concluded.
