Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Review: A Compelling GPU for 4K Gaming

At $749, it comfortably beats AMD’s $899 RX 7900 XT, trades blows with the $999 RX 7900 XTX, and is closer than I was expecting to Nvidia’s own $999 RTX 5080.

Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti Graphics Card

The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti graphics card stands out as the most compelling addition to the 50-series lineup, offering impressive performance at a competitive price. Priced at $749, it effectively outmatches the AMD RX 7900 XT at $899 and competes closely with the $999 RX 7900 XTX. It also comes within reach of Nvidia’s own RTX 5080, which retails for $999. This makes the RTX 5070 Ti an ideal choice for gamers looking to transition to 4K gaming or those seeking high frame rates at 1440p.

However, similar to other 50-series offerings, the RTX 5070 Ti doesn’t represent as significant an upgrade as previous generations from Nvidia. It achieves a mere 14 percent increase in performance at 4K compared to the last-gen RTX 4070 Ti and offers a 22 percent boost at 1440p. Notably, it nearly matches the performance of the RTX 4080 Super, which debuted at $999, while being over 80 percent faster at 4K than the older RTX 3070 Ti. These metrics are commendable, primarily due to the substantial advancements made in the 40 series.

In summary, the RTX 5070 Ti is a solid investment at its MSRP of $749, but it’s crucial that this price point remains stable, as there are already indications of rising costs.

Editor’s note: We aren’t scoring the RTX 5070 Ti at this time.
