Police Officer Found Unconscious After Off-Duty Attack on Sydney Road: A National Concern

A NSW police officer has been left seriously injured after he and another officer were attacked on a busy Sydney road while they were off-duty.

A New South Wales (NSW) police officer has sustained serious injuries following an attack while off-duty on a busy Sydney road.

The 25-year-old officer was discovered unconscious on Enmore Road in Newtown, located in Sydney’s Inner West, after the incident occurred around 11 PM last night.

An off-duty nurse swiftly performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived at the scene.

He received treatment at the scene before being transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

According to police reports, he and another off-duty officer were walking along Enmore Road when they encountered three men engaged in an argument.

“The two off-duty officers were assaulted, with one officer knocked to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked in the head,” stated NSW Police in a formal announcement.

The second man, also 25 years old, suffered facial injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment; however, he has since been discharged.

The three attackers fled the scene prior to police arrival, and detectives are seeking assistance to locate them.

A crime scene has been established, and police are conducting an investigation under Strike Force Rabnor.

One of the suspects is described as having a Maori or Pacific Islander appearance, estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old, with short black curly hair, wearing a white t-shirt and dark blue jeans.

The second suspect is described as having a Caucasian appearance, in the same age range, wearing a tan vest, tan cargo pants, and black sneakers.

The third suspect is also described as having a Maori or Pacific Islander appearance, aged between 20 and 30, with long brown curly hair, dressed in a long-sleeve black flannelette shirt, grey track pants, and black slides.
