Samsung has halted the rollout of its highly anticipated One UI 7 update due to a bug that is preventing some Galaxy S24 owners from unlocking their devices. This critical issue was initially reported by leaker and tipster Ice Universe, who highlighted that a “serious bug” was discovered. Although complaints have predominantly come from South Korean users of the Galaxy S24 series handsets, Samsung has opted to pause the rollout across all models globally to ensure user safety.
Some users may have already downloaded the One UI 7 update, but reports indicate that the firmware is no longer available on Samsung’s servers, as verified by the CheckFirm application. Instead, older firmware versions are being displayed. Samsung has yet to confirm the pause in the rollout or provide information on a fix for those who have already received the One UI 7 update. We have reached out to the company for further clarification.
This update, which introduces Android 15 and a variety of AI enhancements, started rolling out to Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 devices on April 7th, with US users receiving it on April 10th. The update has also been available on Galaxy S25 models and updates for the budget-friendly Galaxy A series since their launch in February.
This pause in the rollout comes after a lengthy delay in the update’s release for older devices, which arrived seven months after Android 15 was made available to developers, and two months post the S25 series launch running on this software.
