Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison celebrated New Year’s Eve in an unexpected location – at Donald Trump’s party held at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
Morrison shared a photo on X of himself and his wife Jenny alongside Trump and his wife Melania at the lavish event.
The post, showcasing the men dressed in tuxedos, was captioned “HNY 2025 from Mar-a-Lago.”

The friendship between Trump and Morrison dates back to September 2019, during Morrison’s tenure as PM and Trump’s presidency.
They have met multiple times, including Morrison’s attendance at a US state dinner in 2019.
After leaving office, they reconvened for a private chat at Trump Tower in New York in 2024, where Trump expressed support for the AUKUS submarine agreement.
During that encounter, Morrison indicated his support for Trump, who was facing a hush money trial, for which he was found guilty.

“It was nice to catch up again, especially given the pile on he is currently dealing with in the US,” Morrison remarked.
This week, a federal appeals court upheld a jury’s finding in a civil case that Donald Trump sexually abused a columnist in an upscale department store dressing room in the mid-1990s.
Mar-a-Lago occupies 17 acres of land in Palm Beach, Florida.
It boasts 126 rooms and spans 62,500 square feet.
Trump is set to return to office as the 47th president of the US on January 20.
