We needed this in the Dunk Contest.
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Shaedon Sharpe has repeatedly turned down the dunk contest, but he might need to reconsider to elevate the competition. The high-flying player boasts an impressive array of highlight-reel dunks in his young career, and this one might just be the frontrunner for the 2024-2025 NBA Dunk of the Year.

First of all, OH MY GOD! Whenever a player throws the ball into no man’s land and the opposition intercepts it, you can be sure something extraordinary is about to occur. This is reminiscent of Vince Carter’s iconic dunk against France and Carmelo Anthony’s impressive move against the Jazz. Never throw the ball back across the court into a crowd unless you want to end up on a poster.
Secondly, observe Sharpe’s body position as he takes off. Not only is he soaring above the rim, but he also has to twist and contort his body sideways to execute this dunk! Just watching it makes my body hurt; it’s truly incredible.
Someone from the NBA should urgently convince Sharpe to participate in the dunk contest. A showdown between him and Mac McClung would be a once-in-a-lifetime event.
