ABC’s latest sitcom, “Shifting Gears,” brings together Tim Allen, known for his roles in “Home Improvement” and “Last Man Standing,” with Kat Dennings from “2 Broke Girls.” This new series follows an estranged father-daughter duo navigating their complex relationship.
Executive produced by Allen and featuring Dennings, the show stars Allen as Matt, a stubborn widower and classic car shop owner. His old-school ways are challenged when his estranged daughter Riley (Dennings) moves back in with her children. Can they find common ground despite their differences, or will their attempts to reconnect fall apart? Joining them are Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis.

“Shifting Gears” is set to premiere on ABC on Wednesday, January 8, at 8 p.m. ET as part of the midseason lineup.
