Following the significant PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that concluded yesterday, Sony has decided to grant PlayStation Plus subscribers an additional five days of service, as announced in a post by the official Ask PlayStation support account on X.

“Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue,” the company stated in the announcement. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience.” Unfortunately, Sony did not provide further specifics regarding the outage.

The outage persisted for nearly an entire day, with initial reports of issues surfacing around 6 PM ET on Friday. Sony announced that services were restored just before 7 PM ET on Saturday.

During the outage, players experienced difficulties such as logging into accounts, accessing the PlayStation Store, and launching games. For instance, my colleague Jay Peters couldn’t log into Fortnite or view his trophies, although his digital copy of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launched without any issues.
