During the CES 2025 keynote, Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions, and Ashley Brucks, president of Screen Gems, shared Sony’s strategy for expanding its intellectual property (IP) following successful adaptations of popular titles like The Last of Us, Gran Turismo, Twisted Metal, and Uncharted.

They revealed that Sony Pictures is currently working on a film adaptation of last year’s hit game Helldivers 2. Additionally, Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions are in the early stages of developing a movie based on Horizon Zero Dawn. This follows a previous attempt to launch a Netflix series that fell through. The upcoming film aims to explore the origin story of the main character, Aloy, set in a dystopian future, but details remain scarce for now.

In addition, Crunchyroll and Aniplex have partnered to create an anime series based on Ghost of Tsushima.

Lastly, Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog presented a sneak peek of The Last of Us season 2, which is set to premiere on Max in April.
