Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum (SGF), has extended heartfelt condolences to Umar Namadi, the Governor of Jigawa State, following the tragic loss of his son, Abdulwahab, in a road accident on the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road. This incident occurred just a day after the passing of the Governor’s mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi.
In a statement released on behalf of the Forum and made available to news outlets in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Abiodun expressed that such devastating events could deeply affect anyone’s spirit.
He emphasized that the Forum draws comfort from the lives of the deceased, encouraging the bereaved Governor to find solace in the belief that his loved ones are now in the care of Allah.
Abiodun stated, “We are heartbroken by the devastating news regarding the loss of our brother and Governor of Jigawa State, H.E Umar Namadi’s son, Abdulwahab, who tragically lost his life in a motor accident just a day after the death of his beloved mother, Alhaja Maryam Namadi. Abdulwahab was a young man full of life.”
“These tragic events, occurring in rapid succession during the festive Yuletide season, a time when families look forward to joy and togetherness, can indeed break anyone’s spirit. It is a cruel twist of fate that Abdulwahab, while grieving the loss of his grandmother, would also lose his life.”
