A courageous tradie spotted a burning home in Sydney’s west and took immediate action to ensure that no one was trapped inside, ultimately rescuing a pet dog in the process.
The fire erupted at a residence on Meadows Road in Mount Pritchard around 11 am, as reported by Fire Rescue NSW Acting Superintendent Matt Sigmon.
Firefighters had to safely remove six LPG gas cylinders from the garage of the two-story brick house to prevent a catastrophic explosion.

Before the fire crews arrived, tradie Leo El Ali, who was en route to his next painting job, noticed the flames and sprang into action.
“I was just driving past… I saw the black smoke, so I pulled into the street where the fire was starting,” El Ali recounted.
“Me and a couple of guys started checking all the windows to see if anyone was inside… it was exploding everywhere; it happened real quick.
“Within five minutes it turned into a massive blaze… I went around the side while it was blowing up and found the dog…
“She was so stressed out, I was scared… she was such a big dog. I was worried she might bite me, but I grabbed her and took her out.”

El Ali mentioned that he left his business card with the police to ensure the owners could retrieve their dog.
Eventually, the owner returned from work and expressed gratitude to El Ali for his bravery in rescuing the dog.
Fire Rescue NSW is still investigating the cause of the fire and confirmed that no one was home at the time of the incident, except for the dog.
