The tragic shooting deaths of four family members in a Pittsburgh suburb on Sunday night were reportedly a murder-suicide allegedly carried out by the family’s oldest son, 19-year-old Clifford Hunt Jr.

Beaver County District Attorney Nate Bible told KDKA that the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, but it seems that Clifford Hunt Jr. was the last person shot in this horrifying incident.

Upon arriving at the North Sewickley Township residence, police discovered the parents, Clifford Sr., 51, and Michelle Hunt, 48, both deceased from gunshot injuries. The two teenage boys, including Clifford and his 16-year-old brother Cody, sustained serious head wounds and were transported to a Pittsburgh hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

“Several weapons were recovered from the scene. [We are] currently investigating what weapons were used and on whom, as we attempt to establish a timeline of events leading up to the shooting,” Bible stated.

It is believed that Cody Hunt made a 911 call from within the home; however, that call was disconnected, WPXI reported. The youngest son was a junior at Riverside High School, where he played saxophone in the marching band and was active in the National Honor Society. The school district noted that he had aspirations of applying to the US Air Force Academy to pursue a career as a pilot.

In response to this tragedy, the district has made counselors available to students and staff, along with therapy dogs to assist those grieving.

Bible remarked that it is too early to determine a motive behind this heartbreaking murder-suicide.
