Just a couple of weeks after launching the refreshed “Juniper” Model Y in China and other Asia-Pacific markets, Tesla has started taking orders in the Americas (US, Canada, Mexico, and Chile) and Europe. The Launch Series is currently the only trim level available for order in the US, featuring a fully loaded setup with special badging, the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) driver assist, and Acceleration Boost for $59,990 before discounts and estimated savings.
The refreshed version of Tesla’s top-selling vehicle boasts a new design for the front and rear lights, an updated interior with an 8-inch touchscreen for backseat passengers, acoustic glass treatment, a new sound system with more speakers, and a retuned suspension. Interestingly, in some of the images (included in our gallery below), a turn signal stalk appears to be located on the left of the steering wheel, differing from the recent trend of on-wheel buttons in other Tesla models.
Additionally, there are ongoing issues concerning Tesla’s brand reputation, and the company recently reported its first year-over-year drop in sales, suggesting that a new lighting setup might not be sufficient to address these challenges.
The new Model Y is equipped with the same front-facing camera that Tesla claims enhances visibility for Autopilot and Actually Smart Summon capabilities.
Similar to the previously announced markets, deliveries are scheduled to begin in March. The updates are reminiscent of last year’s Model 3 update, which promised improved efficiency and performance, along with added features like power-folding rear seats and a hands-free trunk that unlocks automatically when approached.

A notable aspect of this launch is that the older version remains available for order, with the website encouraging buyers to take advantage of reduced pricing while stocks last. Based on the online configurations, the price difference between similarly-spec’d Long Range dual-motor AWD Model Ys new and old is approximately $4,000.
The current edition is ready for immediate delivery, offering options for additional features, such as the performance package, a variety of colors, or a seven-seat configuration. The New Model Y advertises a range of 320 miles without an EPA stamp, compared to the old version’s 311 EPA estimate (notably, the advertised range was previously 330 miles before Tesla adjusted it) for a similar model. The 0-60 mph time is also improved, now at 4.1 seconds instead of 4.8, although the top speed has decreased from 135 mph to 125 mph, which is likely acceptable for a family vehicle.
