Two individuals from nearby yachts rushed to assist in scaring the dingo away, but it remained unfazed, according to the DETSI.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is actively working to track down the dingo involved in the attack, as it is tagged.

Dingoes are native to the island and visitors are advised to practice “dingo-safe” behaviors, including always walking in groups, carrying a stick, and avoiding running.
