Tragedy struck in a national forest in Washington State, USA, where two men tragically lost their lives while searching for the legendary creature, Bigfoot.
Authorities initiated a search operation for the men, both from Portland, Oregon, after they failed to return from their adventure in Gifford Pinchot National Forest on Christmas Eve.
The deceased, aged 37 and 59, had entered the remote forest in pursuit of the fabled creature Sasquatch, commonly referred to as Bigfoot. Their absence was noted on December 24, as reported by the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office.

A grueling search operation that lasted three days involved the efforts of 60 volunteers, rescue teams, dogs, helicopters, and drones, all working under “difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions” to locate the men.
Their bodies were discovered on December 29 in a heavily wooded region of the forest.
Officials indicated that both men succumbed to exposure, attributing their demise to the severe weather and lack of proper preparation.

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office extended their deepest sympathies and condolences to the families mourning their loved ones in this heartbreaking incident.
There have been hundreds of reported sightings of the elusive Bigfoot throughout the US Pacific Northwest since the early 1800s.
Despite the numerous claims, the existence of Bigfoot remains unverified; however, Skamania County has implemented a $1000 ($1608) fine for harming one of these creatures during hunts.
