Nigerian billionaire Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, publicly admonished his son during his extravagant birthday celebration on Saturday.
The nightlife mogul, who celebrated his 50th birthday, hosted a lavish party in Abuja, attended by many of the country’s most prominent celebrities.
Among the notable figures present was Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, who was disrespected by Obi Cubana’s son.
In a viral video, the businessman was seen standing next to his son, who remained seated when Peter Obi approached them. As Peter Obi greeted Cubana, he turned to his son, who continued to sit.

Not tolerating what he considered disrespectful behavior towards an elder, Cubana instructed his son to stand and greet the politician, which he promptly did.
Obi Cubana was quick to tell his son to get up and greet Peter Obi.

Along with Peter Obi, a plethora of celebrities, politicians, and public figures graced Cubana’s opulent birthday bash.
The star-studded guest list featured well-known personalities such as Kanayo Kanayo, Kennedy Okonkwo, Cubana Chief Priest, AY Makun, E-Money, Daddy Freeze, Jowizaza, and Zubby Michael.
The event was designed to be a visual feast, with the venue adorned in a stunning black, white, and gold theme. Giant portraits of the birthday celebrant, luxurious golden chairs, vibrant floral arrangements, and sparkling crystal chandeliers were elegantly positioned throughout.
The festivities commenced on a spiritual note with a Holy Communion and Thanksgiving Service on Saturday.
The celebrant marked his new age with a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing a photo of himself in traditional attire, captioned “12.04.25 Happy Birthday, Obi Cubana. 50yrs! 50for50.”

His wife, Ebele Iyiegbu, affectionately known as Lush Eby, celebrated her husband by sharing a picture of him in elegant attire, writing, “You are my gift, Dim oma!”
