The Kansas City Chiefs are advancing in the playoffs as they prepare for the AFC Championship of the 2025 NFL Playoffs. Fans are hopeful for the NFL’s first Super Bowl three-peat after a thrilling victory.
After a bye week, the Chiefs faced off against the Houston Texans at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium during Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round Game. The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, secured a hard-fought win with a score of 23-14, marking their seventh consecutive appearance in the AFC Championship Game.
The Texans put up a solid fight, closing the gap to just a point in the third quarter with a touchdown. However, Mahomes showcased his signature “Mahomes Magic,” coupled with impressive running from Kareem Hunt, to ensure the Chiefs maintained their lead.
As for the upcoming AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs will face the winner of the highly-anticipated matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens. This game features two high-octane offenses and MVP contenders, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.
Kansas City previously battled both teams earlier this season, winning against the Ravens 27-20 in Week 1 but falling to the Bills 30-21 in Week 11.
Last year, the Chiefs triumphed in both Buffalo and Baltimore, paving their way to Super Bowl LVIII.
