This is the alert that inadvertently went out to everyone in LA County.

After two days of battling devastating wildfires that have scorched thousands of acres, residents across Los Angeles County received a wrongful wildfire evacuation alert on Thursday afternoon. This alert was quickly followed by a clarification from officials stating that the notice was specifically intended for those near the Kenneth Fire in Woodland Hills.

Los Angeles County shared a message on X detailing the incident. “An evacuation order for residents near the Kenneth Fire, currently burning in West Hills, was mistakenly issued Countywide,” the post explained. “This alert was meant solely for the residents of Calabasas and Agoura Hills.”

CBS Los Angeles reported on comments from Sup. Janice Hahn, who stated, “I have been informed that the evacuation warning many of us received on our phones was mistakenly issued countywide due to a technical error.”

Numerous wildfires are currently raging in the LA area, with officials confirming at least six fatalities, as CNN reports.
